North Star Camp, Cabin Project

In the summer of 2022, I worked as a camp counsellor in Wisconsin, where I ran woodworking lessons focused on creating miniature cabins with the campers. Inspired by the cabins they stayed in, I designed the project to teach the boys essential woodworking skills and safe tool use. The cabins were built on slices of logs, with the boys adding their own personal touches using paint and pyrography.

Over two weeks, I guided the boys through the process, encouraging creativity and allowing them to take artistic ownership of their projects. By the end of the programme, we had successfully created over 60 unique miniature cabins, providing a hands-on, enjoyable learning experience that the boys really engaged with.
